Stax Trade Centres supply over 45,000 trade businesses, making them the largest non-food wholesaler in the UK. 75% of these businesses are building sector specific and regularly use Stax as the wholesaler of choice to source products and materials for their day to day jobs. Stax cater to most trades, from electricians to plumbers and joiners to bricklayers, so it’s vital that these customers have rapid access to product information and prices in order to quote their customers accurately.
We were tasked with creating a tool that would complement the existing Stax website and reduce the need for the various print collateral that were available to trade customers at the time. It was important that the outcome would position Stax as a genuine trade supplier in the building sector and make life easier for their customers.
We set about creating a single, convenient trade guide that would eliminate the need for multiple printed catalogues.
Stax Trade Centres has a time served brand identity. Having worked closely with them for over 20 years we were able to continue this whilst simultaneously modernising some aspects, allowing the resulting product to appear fresh and modern, but still highly recognisable.
We oversaw and managed the procurement of the printed collateral and ensured quality, stock and price expectations were all met. We then distributed the final product to Stax’s six nationwide branches to be offered as a trade companion.
The project involved organising large amounts of information and required careful planning to ensure we displayed said information in the most logical and efficient manner possible. The goal here was to create a trade guide that not only contained all the relevant information, but was as easy to navigate, useful and convenient as possible.
With extensive experience in catalogue design, our creative team worked hard to process the information they were supplied with and display it in a user friendly, aesthetically pleasing manner. Everything created matched Stax’s brand guidelines, as well as industry standard design standards.
The outcome was a 100+ page, pocket sized A5 handy guide that included a core range of Stax’s massive product range and combined all existing collateral into one cohesive catalogue. This new format catalogue was also packed with information about all of Stax’s trade services, housing all the benefits that Stax can bring to their business. This end result was a useful, retainable guide that could be used on-the-go and help with their day to day jobs.
