Stax Trade Centres

Challenge

Stax is one of the UK’s leading non-food cash & carry wholesalers supplying a network of over 50,000 trade customers, comprising of independent retailers and trade professionals. The company has a highly loyal customer base, some of who were making a weekly trip of several hundred miles to replenish their shops with stock. The challenge was to design a web platform to grow Stax’s online business and support the shift towards delivered wholesale operations.

Audience

Predominantly male, 30 something plus business owners… From small high street hardware shops to nationwide garden centre chains. Suppliers to the company who want to grow their sales through Stax’s digital platform.

 

Approach

A multi-phase project plan was scaled starting with an overhaul of the original out-dated platform and design. The key objectives were:

SELL: Become an effective integrated sales tool
INFORM: To raise online awareness of the Stax brand to be on a par with its stature and capabilities
ENGAGE: To engage and inform key Stax stakeholders
RESEARCH: To collect data to help us understand our customers
SUPPORT: To develop relationships with new customers & nurture existing ones

Detailed future plans were also put in place to support the growth of the site allowing for a suite of feature rich future developments focussed around maintaining customer loyalty.

Results

Over 450% increase in turnover via the website within 3 years.
Website traffic increase by 110% in 3 years.

Next Steps

Full mobile optimisation and integration with customer e-commerce sites to sync price updates, stock figures and product information – further driving sales through a synergistic sales partnership.
